Dog rushed to vet with ‘lump’ on chest – before red-faced owner realises mortifying error
A panicked woman raced her pooch to the vet fearing he had a lump on his stomach – but it turned out to just be his nipples.
The mum panicked when she was looking after her Frenchie Apollo and spotted the ‘lumps’ on his belly.
The pooch – who has more than 960,000 followers on TikTok – was taken to the vet, with his owners fearing the worst.
But she was left in stitches after it emerged that the lumps were nothing more than the pooch’s nipples.
The expensive mistake – which cost £145 ($200) was shared on TikTok, where it left people in stitches.
The caption explained: “Mom spent $200 at the vet today because she found a lump on my belly she thought was cancer.
“It was my nipple,” followed by a laughing emoji.
The gaffe quickly went viral – with more than two million views and thousands of comments.
One vet tried to reassure them, advising: “As a vet tech of 15 years, I can tell you that you are by far not the first to do this.
“Better safe than sorry.”
Another viewer joked: “Don’t tell her about the other seven or you’re going back to the vets.”
And other dog owners chipped in, with their similar tales of realising their mistake too late.
“I took my dog to the vet because he had a lump on his face, tell me why a piece of chicken fell out and the lump went right away,” admitted one.
“I didn’t realise dogs had a whisker bump under their chin and I took my first dog to the vet to get checked out,” added another.
A third said: “My mum went to the vet thinking my dog has a tick but it was his paw.
“They charged her $40 (£28) just to check his paw.”
